Halfway there!

We are so excited to share that we are having a little girl, Audrey Mae!! All of our tests have come back normal and everything is going very well! Our last appointment was on the 17th and we were glad that Audrey cooperated because we couldn't have waited until after the holidays to find out. It has been wonderful to share the news with family and friends and we can't wait to start shopping! Its also very exciting that so many of our friends just had little girls or are having girls soon. Not to mention her cousin, Cadence, is on the way as well! Let the shopping begin!!!

16 weeks and counting!!

It's hard to believe that I'm already almost 17 weeks along! I've been feeling great and my belly is definately starting to pooch! We went to the dr. at 15 weeks and tried to find out what we are having but the little squirt wouldn't stop squirming around. The 3D pictures were amazing and he/she is actually starting to look like a baby! We go back on the 17th and are hoping to find out then. We are getting more and more excited and can't wait to decorate the nursery! Enjoy the pictures!

Well we made it through the 1st trimester and everything is going great! I feel much better and haven't felt nauseous in a few weeks! Our next appointment is Nov. 17th. I switched doctors because Cape Coral was just too far to drive and it was never possible to make it down there. Also a few of my friends go to Dr Gregush and they really like him. Plus, he does 3d ultrasounds so Im super excited to see those! Enjoy the pictures!

What a great weekend! Mike and I flew to Ohio on Thursday to spend the weekend with family at the Oktoberfest. Since our parents were the only ones that knew, we spent the entire weekend spreading the news! I had onesies made for my siblings and sister-in-law that were a total hit! (You can see the pics) It was definately hard leaving everyone but we'll be back at Christmas so hopefully I have a nice big belly for my mom by then!!

1st appt. today!!

We finally got to see our little bambino today!! I am 8 weeks along and everthing looks great! What an amazing feeling to see this little living creature inside of me! It was truly the coolest experience ever! The heartbeat was 162 bpm which makes my mom think it's a boy. We'll see! I'm still feeling pretty nauseous but have only gotten sick one time. Thank goodness! We're super excited to head up to Ohio this weekend and finally get to see everyone. I can't wait to see everyone's reactions. I'm so excited to share this experience with Annie (who's only 3 days ahead of me), and my sister in law, Jody (who's a month farther along.)

Still surreal!!

We have now bought stock in First Response because of the overwhelming amount of pregnancy tests I have purchased. Well maybe it's not that bad but I don't think we can fit another one along our mirror edge, since I insist on keeping them all! I had bloodwork done three times and each time my hcg levels were increasing like they are supposed to. Also, remember that nauseousness that I wished for? Well it's here... For about the past week I have felt very nauseous and had a dull headache. The headache is probably due to the lack of caffeine in my new "pregnancy diet." It will all be worth it, right?? And I don't know if this whole 10k thing is going to happen b/c I haven't ran in weeks. I'm actually mad at myself for not keeping up with it but it's never too late to start again. Maybe tomorrow!?

Ok so I haven't posted in over a month but I have some exciting news and it's great because I'm not allowed to tell anyone yet and since noone knows Im even doing this blog I can put it on here! I took 4 pregnancy tests, yes 4 b/c I didn't believe it, and they were all positive!! Mike and I are still unsure if its real or not b/c we had been trying for so long and last month was the only month that we didn't try. Go figure! I had blood work done today and I go back Friday to make sure my hCg levels are doubling. Then we plan on telling everyone! We are so excited we can barely stand it. I have already bought the cutest little sleeper and shirt with firefighter stuff on them. I just have this feeling that it's a boy and the string and chinese calendar say boy. I guess we'll just have to wait and see!

Keeping busy!

Well Mike and I have been super busy trying to make the most out of our summer. After Mom left, we headed to North Carolina with Melissa and Nicole to visit Grandma Deke at her cabin. The weather was beautiful, Nicole was so much fun to play with, and we couldn't have asked for a better trip! Last week we decided it was time to get a puppy. We had been debating for a while and going back and forth about what kind we wanted. Then I found a breeder for weimaraners in N Fort Myers and as soon as I saw them I was in LOVE! We picked out a female that we've decided to name Ibis and we get to pick her up this coming Friday! We're both really excited and it's nice to have something to keep our mind off of baby making. We've also been busy training for our 10k. I ran 4 miles for the first time in my life today and was pretty damn proud of myself. It actually took me two times to get it right because this morning I was so dehydrated from a long day out on the boat yesterday that I had to wimp out and walk part of the way. I was disappointed in myself so tonight I went for it again and made it all the way! Yeah!! Its back to school tomorrow so let the fun begin!

Holy day!!!

Well my 1st appt. was with Dr. Sweet this morning at 9. He did an ultrasound and looked at my uterus and ovaries. I have plenty of follices and everything looks great except he doesn't think my ovaries are working properly. I guess the way they moved when he touched them didn't seem right. Then mom and I spent the rest of the morning getting some major retail therapy. :) My 2nd appt. was at 2:00 at Regional Radiology. There they did a hysterosalpingogram where they insert a catheter into my cervix, blow up a little balloon to keep it in place, and then inject a dye to see if it flows through all the right places. Well it did, which is wonderful!! Now we just have to wait until I get my blood work done on August 4th and then we go back to Dr. Sweet on Aug. 18 to go over all the tests. Man, this baby is alot of work and it hasn't even been created yet!!

Well....we went to Dr. Sweet today. Mike was kind enough to get someone to cover for him for a few hours so we could go out to lunch and then go to the appt. We didn't really find out anything today but I have to go back next Wed. (the 15th) to have an ultrasound and a dye test to make sure everything is working. Dr. Sweet thinks I might have polycystic ovarian syndrome which is why Im not ovulating. Im so glad my mommy will be here to go with me! Until then I guess we'll just keep training for the 10k and try to keep our minds off of it!

Seriously!

So the month of "not trying" didn't work so well! We still haven't had any luck so Ive been on Clomid for the last two months. The good news is I know Im ovulating and am having the opportunity to get pregnant, the bad news is it's still not happening. :( I've gotten to the point that my heart actually aches when people ask when we are having kids. I've set up an appointment with Dr. Sweet, a fertility doctor, in Ft Myers for July 9th. Hopefully Julie rubbing her pregnant belly against mine will work and I won't get my period on the 4th as expected! Still hoping and praying every day and trying not to get discouraged!!!

So I'm officially driving myself, and Mike, crazy with this whole baby thing. I thought that as soon as I wanted to get pregnant that the little stork would appear and Voila! I'd suddenly have a growing belly. Not so much! We haven't been "avoiding" pregnancy for a year. Then we decided to get serious about it and for about 3 months I used a basal thermometer and took my temperature every morning, charted it daily, and referred to FertilityFriend.com as if it were a bible. Still nothing! So this month I'm taking my mom's advice. I'm not taking my temperature, swearing off pregnancy websites, and secretly hoping that I wake up nauseous. Until then, Mike and I will keep trying to perfect this whole reproducing thing!
